For generations, the Slow Loris have survived on the fringes of extinction, preserving their existence through an unyielding doctrine: Train and Pray. Among them, discipline is sacred, tradition is law, and failure comes at the price of exile.

After years among the feared assassins known as the Murder Men, Nyanza returns to the Rwandan islands of her ancestors to fulfill an obligation she has spent much of her life avoiding. But the home she remembers is changing, and the future of her people is being negotiated behind closed doors.

As wealthy investors and ambitious politicians turn their attention toward the once-forgotten islands, promises of prosperity conceal a ruthless struggle for land, influence, and power. Old traditions clash with new ambitions, loyalties become commodities, and even those entrusted with protecting their people have a price.

Caught between the demands of her faith, the expectations of her family, and a past she'd rather leave buried, Nyanza discovers that the greatest threats to her homeland may not come from beyond its shores.

She was trained to kill for survival. Now she must decide what she's willing to sacrifice for her people.
