Killers Prey Too

In the bustling heart of the Midwest, the sanctity of the black church is shattered by a gruesome murder. The unlikely suspect is none other than Darryl "Squirrel" Davis, a once notorious gangster turned pastor of one of the region's largest mega-churches. Pastor Davis wakes up in a hotel room to a nightmare—the lifeless body of the wife of a powerful politician lies beside him. Fearing the worst, he turns to the only person he believes can help in this predicament: Veronica Malone, Attorney General who points him in Black Love's direction.

As the murder investigation intensifies, someone within the police department leaks sensitive information to online news blogs. The news spreads like wildfire, and soon, a formidable adversary emerges in the form of King O. Riain, Speaker, Illinois House of Representatives and the husband of the slain woman found in the pastor’s bed. With the police at his beck and call, Riain orchestrates a relentless pursuit of justice, aiming squarely at both Black and Pastor Davis. He employs every resource at his disposal, from a cunning mole planted within the department, January Jones, to the direct offensive led by Joaquin Vincent Gigante, the influential boss of Little Village.

Faced with mounting pressure, Black races against time to uncover the truth before an arrest warrant is issued for Pastor Davis. As the investigation unfolds, Black becomes increasingly suspicious of both the pastor and Veronica Malone, sensing that they may be hiding crucial details that could make or break the case. With his instincts sharp and his determination unwavering, Black navigates a treacherous web of deceit, betrayal, and political machinations, determined to reveal the real killer, and save Pastor Davis from the impending storm.

In "Killers Prey Too Part One," the Black Love Detective series takes a thrilling turn as the lines between good and evil blur, and the pursuit of justice becomes a dangerous game of survival. Will Black untangle the web of lies in time to exonerate Pastor Davis, or will they both succumb to the relentless forces working against them?
